Deck Remodeling

Most decks built in the last 15-20 years were framed with “treated” material and the deck boards and railings were either treated or cedar materials.  Although the treated boards don’t deteriorate, they do begin to look worn with age.  Cedar boards are prone to rot, especially at the ends.  The same is true of any wood railings. Even though your deck might be structurally sound, it will start to need some attention as it ages.  Power washing, staining and refinishing are always an option but the results are generally temporary.

Another option may be to “remodel” your deck.  It is often possible to keep the treated structural framing and replace the deck boards and railings with a lower maintenance, longer lasting product such as a composite.  Deckreations would be glad to inspect your deck to see if it is a good candidate for remodeling instead of total replacement.
